I calciatori del Manchester City, campione d’Ingilterra 2019, cantano Wonderwall insieme al musicista ex Oasis Noel Gallagher.

A seguito della vittoria 4 ad 1 a Brighton contro il Brighton & Hove Albion, i citizens si sono laureati campioni di Inghilterra vincendo la Premier League…una della più belle ed agguerrite degli ultimi anni. I giocatori del City hanno potuto festeggiare nel migliore dei modi, nello sposliatoio cantando con Noel Gallagher la mitica Wonderwall, oramai inno della squadra:

Non potevano scegliere musica migliore, già perchè questa canzone, già associata ai tifosi di calcio, sia della nazionale inglese che ad alcuni club, primo fra tutti proprio il City, rappresenta il successo. Il brano, scritto da Noel, è tra le più belle e famose canzoni degli Oasis, uscito nell’album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?,  nel 1995 per la Helter Skelter, è un’icona del genere musicale britpop. Il 45 giri, uscito nello stesso anno per l’etichetta Creation Record vanta un’infinità di record. Favoloso anche il testo, il video e..quel colpo di tosse, che nella versione del singolo, precede l’inizio del brano. Le parole del titolo non hanno troppo senso (
(And what’s a wonderwall anyway? ), anche se si rivolgono ad il grande George Harrison dei Beatles ed al suo disco Wonderwall Music.
