Il coro degli Shamrock Rovers per McEneff

Con la musica di Enola Gay, gli Shamrock Rovers Ultras cantano un coro per Aaron McEneff.

Non è certamente una melodia originale questa, diffusa da sempre in tutti gli stadi britannici e poi in tutto il mondo..passando ovviamente per l’Italia (chissà come la canti tu nella tua gradinata?). Ci piace però parlare degli Hoops perchè sono molto particolari:

• si definiscono “ultras”, cosa non troppo diffusa nel nord Europa, specialmente al di là di Calais
• sono legati a tifoserie come Hammarby, Panathinaikos e Roma
• rappresentano i più vincenti di Irlanda
• hanno ereditato colori e fantasia a strisce dal Beslfast Celtic, realtà scomparsa.

Questi tifosi, appartenenti per lo più alla parte sud di Dublino, vivono una bella rivalità con i Bohs, i supporter del Bohemians, i rossoneri della Northside della città, ma non solo, anche con Shelbourn e ST.Patrick’s. Il vero odio fu con i “cugini” del Drumcondra, club scomparso nei 70s.

La musica del coro è quella di Enola Gay

Un singolo synth pop che ancora oggi viaggia…il brano è degli Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, pubblicato nel 1980. Seppur la melodia sembra allegra, il titolo fa riferimento all’aereo che sganciò la bomba atomica su Hiroshima…chiaramente la canzone ne parla in ottica pacifista, usando anche dei termini militari relativi a quell’evento.
