I tifosi del Celtic celebrano la musica dei Wolfe Tones

Con una coregrafia i tifosi della squadra di calcio del Celtic di Glasgow richiamano la musica tradizionale di Spancil Hill.

Primo turno di Champions League: Celtic 5 v 1 Slovan Bratislava; ma lo speccaolo è sugli spalti…come sempre. La Green Brigade offre una coreografia che richiama alla Coppa dei Campioni vinta nel 1967 ed affianca una scritta “Last night lay dreaming”, parte del testo di un brano di musica popolare irlandese.

La canzone alla qualefa riferimento è Spancil Hill, un brano romantico di Michael Considine di fine 1800; il testo parla di un emigrante irlandese in terra americana che sogna di essere nel suo paesino nativo e di incotrare la sua amata di sempre. Noi conosciamo la versione del 1976 dei Wolfe Tones pubblicata da etichetta Triskel Records nel vinile Across the broad atlantic.
